The Jetboil Personal Cooking System (PCS) is much more than and ordinary backpacking stove. The unit contains the fuel (pressurized fuel canisters), burner, cooking pot/ cup and coffee press. What makes the Jetboil unique is the heat exchanger on the bottom of the cooking pot. Making the exchange of heat from the burner to the contents of the cup significantly more efficient allows faster boil times with less fuel use. The cooking pot attached to the burner eliminating the teetering wobbly effect common to most backpacking stoves. The Jetboil PCS can be used to boil water for re-hydrating backpacking meals or as a French press to make coffee on the go. Just add water, boil (roughly 3 min), add grounds, wait 4 minutes and plunge. Your fresh brewed coffee can be enjoyed straight from the insulated cooking cup or poured off into your favorite mug. Having used the Jetboil on a recent hiking trip to Montana in September, I found it very easy to setup and use for both coffee and meals. We were day hiking, not backpacking, but having a hot cup of coffee with our trail lunch was the ticket. Some days when cooler weather set in we took a dehydrated meal for lunch. We received many envious looks from other hikers as they passed through the steam rising from our fresh brewed coffee. The whole burner/fuel can unit fits neatly into the cooking pot, so the entire unit takes up little space in the pack. I have also been using the Jetboil while kayak fishing in the bay for a quick cup of joe or a hot lunch on a cooler day. No matter your adventure of choice, if you like a fresh brewed cup of coffee or a hot lunch on the way, you will definitely want to check out the Jetboil PCS. |

| Costa Del Mar 580 Copper Lensed Sunglasses- Offering the best vision on and off the water, 580 lenses just make the world look better. Costa's polarization cuts glare off of the surface of the water while fishing and off the road while driving. The copper tint provides contrast enhancement making that elusive snook easier to see and allows the glasses to be worn in a wider range of light conditions meaning you can put them on earlier and take them off later in the day. The magic of the 580 lense comes from providing contrast enhancement but also preventing the color distortion that normal contrast enhancement lenses create. That translates to reds, blue and greens appearing as reds, blues and greens, as they should. The clarity of the lenses is exceptional, made of glass they also offer tremendous scratch resistance. Copper 580 lenses are available in nearly every frame Costa del Mar makes and are available with an exterior green mirror, silver mirror or natural. | |

For any situation you might find yourself in, Smartwool makes a sock for you. The merino wool construction makes for a superior overall sock. Many people associate wool socks with cold weather, and they’re great for that, but wool also performs well in warmer temperatures. Wool insulates your foot equally well from heat as it does from cold. Cotton socks feel great when you first put them on, but as your foot perspires and the sock gets damp, cotton looses its loft and its ability to cushion your foot. Wool on the other hand wicks moisture away from your foot, making your foot feel drier and retains its loft keeping your foot cushioned all day long. I wear the Smartwool PHD Micro Mini Socks year round in Florida for running, working and general around town activities. When out on a hike I prefer the Smartwool Hiking Medium Cushion Sock or the PHD Outdoor Crew Sock in medium or light cushion. |
